I’m Already There –Lonestar

My assistant was humming this song this morning. When her daughter was young, she used to sing it to her. I was glad for the reminder. Here is background on what inspired the songwriters. I always enjoyed hearing it on the radio.

Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good

I still have a tendency to provide my own thundercloud everywhere I go, and I worry a lot. But maybe I have gotten better…at least I hope so. Life is frequently not fine and dandy.

Anyway, one morning some years ago when I was still working an outside job instead of at home, worried sick about the day ahead, this song by Don Williams came on the radio. My aunt made me sing it with her, helping me to focus on changing my attitude.

A couple of weeks ago, during a down period, the song came back to  me again. Really focus on the words. They are powerful.

Two Favorites for Different Reasons

I decided to write about country music today. I always liked “That’s My Job” by Conway Twitty. It just reminds me how important it is for family members to take care of one another.

“Seven Spanish Angels” was a favorite of my mom’s. She always turned the radio up louder when it was on. I haven’t heard it in years, but this is another I always liked, in spite of how tragic the lyrics are. I like the melody, and I admire the performers.
